Cell Pathways

New, More Direct Pathways from Outside of Cells to Cell Nuclei Discovered

Cell Pathways

1. Phagocytosis and endocytosis: the cell membrane pinches together, and thereby forms an intracellular membrane-bound compartment, called a phagosome or endosome, that contains extracellular material.

2. The phagosome travels from the cell membrane to the nucleus.

3. The phagosome is engulfed by the nucleus, and then releases its contents into the nucleus.
